Super excited to be a finalist in this iconic landscape art prize! This is the first in a series of rising tide studies and, unusually for me, was completed alla prima in oils using a humungous palette knife on aluminium.
ARTIST STATEMENT
The clear and present danger of climate change driven sea-level rise has lent impetus to my studies of rock-pools and fragile coastal ecosystems from Perth to Sydney, driven by a sense of the retreating continental and emotional edge we cling to.
